Cas Wayne Donnell went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the age of 64; after surviving cancer in 2000 and a long battle with respiratory problems. Cas was born to Virgil and Hazel Donnell on July 2, 1947 in San Antonio, TX. Cas attended Highlands High School and in 1965, and at the age of 17, he joined the Marine Corp. He honorably served his country for 4 years with tours in Viet Nam and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. After the military, Cas worked briefly with the San Antonio Transit System, Katy Railroad, San Antonio Airport Security, Bexar County Deputy Constable Reserves Precinct 3, 24 years with San Antonio Police Department (the Patrol Division, Traffic Motorcycle Division, and Vice Detective) until he retired in 1993. Cas also worked 8 years for the Southwest ISD Police Department. During this time he also served his country with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves for 31 years. Cas was a member of the Masonic Lodge #44, Alzafar Shrine Antique Carriage Club, and Good Guys Rod & Custom Association. His hobbies included: Saturday morning breakfast at the Pig Stand with his buddies, Sunday morning church, Hot Rods, and Nascar Racing. Cas loved his grandchildren dearly. The family wants to thank the University Hospital 10th floor ICU and Life Care Hospital ICU. He is preceded in death by his parents. Cas is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pam Neuman Donnell; one daughter, Dixie Lynn and husband Bryan Zaiontz; four grandchildren, Cody, Bryan, Mason, Cassidy; foster daughter, Dana Marino from Woodbridge, VA; other numerous family members and friends.
