HARRIS, Charles E., of Nashville, age 100, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by wives Leona Goss Harris and Clara Perry Harris and parents Charles F. and Laura Taylor Harris. He is survived by son, Dr. Ed Harris of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Nancy Harris Dial of Nashville; grandchildren, Alison Harris of Mesquite, Texas; Charles F. Harris, Jr. and spouse Heather of Bryan, Texas; great grandchildren, Logan and Natalie Harris of Bryan, Texas; niece, Helen Harris Owens of Nashville: and nephew, Tad Harris of Nashville. A special thanks is given to his care givers for 2 years; Annetta Churchwell, Diana Lea, and Esabelle Lewis. Charles was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and was an electrical engineer for the Corps of Engineers for 45 years. He was a longtime member of Brook Hollow Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 3-6 P.M. at West Harpeth Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Brook Hollow Baptist Church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 9:00 A.M. on June 1, 2012. In lieu of flowers you may send donations to the Library or Mission Program at Brook Hollow Baptist Church or to St. Luke's Community House, New York Avenue , Nashville.
