Aaron Van Whittington, a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the age of 72. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his life. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 44 years, Michele Louise Prewitt Whittington. Loving father of Michele Louise Whittington Stedman, Erin Brooke Whittington Boreros (wife of Vincente Joseph Boreros II), Irene Marie Whittington Sanchez (wife of Felix Nahum Sanchez) and Lachelle Whittington Ladnier (wife of Royce Dudley Ladnier). Son of the late Irene Pitre Whittington and John Buford Whittington Sr. Brother of Olivet Lindquist Marler and the late John Buford Whittington and Violet Lindquist Carter. Proud grandfather of Marion Isobel Boreros, Vincente Joseph Boreros III, Amanda Renee Stedman, Robert Nash Stedman, Chandler Logan Stedman, Benjamin Aaron Sanchez, Jordan Christoff Sanchez, Royce Dudley Ladnier II and Jada Elizabeth Ladnier. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Aaron will be fondly remembered as a man who was filled with an abundance of smiles that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends, as he never met a stranger. Constantly on the go, Aaron especially enjoyed playing Bingo as a way of keeping in touch with his many friends and acquaintances. He will be deeply missed by all who were touched by his love, kindness and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, April 7th from 11:00AM – 2:00PM.

Burial will be private.
