Age 80, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, January 15, 2012 surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Della was born and raised in Los Lunas, NM, but resided in Albuquerque. Della is preceeded in death by her parents, Evangelista and Pedro Tafoya; brothers, Piliar, Jose, Pete and Martin Tafoya; sisters, Mercedes Ellis and Erlinda Griego; and nephew, Thomas Ellis. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Serge W. Beck; daughters, Debbie Adams (David Olivarez) , and Neva Beck; sons, Vincent, Eric and Conrad, all of Albuqurerque, NM and Brian (Dr. Rosa) Beck of Olymipia, Washington; grandchildren, Chris (Candice) and Fransisco (Alisia) Saavedra, Hannah Beck, Donald and Jovan Lucero, Clint and Faith Beck, Lori, Jordai and Brianna Beck; great-grandchildren, Chardonney, Santiago, Alexis and Atiana Saavedra; her brother, Johnny Tafoya (Lorena) of Los Lunas, NM; her sister, Angie Jones of Fisk, MO; sister-in-law, Carmen Tafoya; brother-in-law, Johnny Griego, both of Los Lunas, NM; several nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends. Della loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating, swimming, skiing, reading, her garden and playing her piano. We would like to thank the entire Presbyterian Hospice team for all their support during this time. A special thank you to her care givers, Karen, Marcella and Jessie for loving her as much as we did. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
