Adele C. Brown, 86, of Red Hook, NY, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. Born on October 23, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Emily (Konrath) Thomas. She was a graduate of Corona High School in Queens, NY. Along with raising her family and being a home maker, Adele worked as a waitress and housekeeper. She also served as a "Den Mother" for over 9 years. Adele married Carlton W. Brown on 1941 in Elmhurst, NY. Carlton predeceased her on November 21, 1991. She is survived by two sons; Curt & his wife Kathy Brown of Milan, NY, and Gary D. Brown of Rockypoint, NY, five grandchildren; Gary Brown, Robert Brown, Mark Brown, Roger Brown and Christi Brown, and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son; Robert "Drew" Brown who died on January 21, 1998 and a brother; Arthur Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 5th, 2009 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, NY. The Rev. Allan Thayer will officiate. Burial will be at St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Memorial donations may be made in Adele's memory to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
