Brattleboro- Adeline M. Lavoie, 85, died Saturday night, April 11, 2009 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Lavoie was born in Alburg, Vermont on February 16, 1924, the daughter of James and Mildred (Martin) Younger. She was raised and educated in Alburg attending local schools.

She eventually relocated to Brattleboro and had been employed at the former BookPress where she retired from in 1986 following over 25 years of faithful service with the company.

She later moved to Las Vegas where she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law later returning to Brattleboro. At the time of her passing she had been a resident at Pine Heights Nursing Home on Oak Grove Avenue.

Mrs. Lavoie was a member of the former Improved Order of Redmen, Pocahontas Council #4 in Brattleboro.

She was a faithful and devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was first married to Charles H. Dwyer, Sr. who is predeceased her. She later married Joseph Lavoie who is also deceased.

Survivors include one son, Charles H. Dwyer, Jr. and wife Joan of Las Vegas, one brother, James E. Younger, Jr. of Brattleboro, a grandson, Craig A. Murphy of Keene, two great granddaughters and four great great grandsons.

Additionally she leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Murphy and a son, Lloyd Lavoie who died in infancy.

Graveside committal services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery on Orchard Street with Rev. Michael Gantt, pastor of Agape Christian Fellowship, officiating.

Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home this evening (Tuesday) from 6 to 8 P.M.
