Adell Carey Scruggs age 88 of Dallas, Texas passed away February 6, 2012. Born June 9, 1923 in Calvert, Texas to the parentage of Joe and Sallie Carey. She attended the public schools of Robertson County. She later moved to Dallas and graduated from Madam C.J. Walker Beauty School, where she dedicated 60 years as a beautician.

She confessed a love of Christ and her faith to Good Street Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. She hade many years of faithful service singing in the choir and on the Usher Board. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Carey; mother, Sallie Whitted; three sons, Kenneth Holloway, Herbert Holloway and Arthur Lee Holloway; one daughter, Ava Scruggs; one grandson, Eldon Holloway, Sr.; and her beloved Louis Gene Scruggs.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Two daughters, Beverly Harris and Joyce Holloway; fifteen grandchildren, Shawn, Kealon, Kenneth, Kena, Kim, Simone, Darrell, Reginald, Rodney, Valerie, Renee, Mark, Kendra, Holly, Tamika and Jennifer; thirty great grandchildren; and twenty great great grandchildren,
