Adolph H. Wussow "Doc" Adolph H. "Doc" Wussow died on Sunday July 8th, 2012 as a result of a life long battle with heart disease and the most recent surgery for a cancerous brain tumor that quickly took his life. Wussow, a native of Milwaukee, lived in Oconomowoc until retirement in 1978. He graduated from Holy Ghost Lutheran School in 1938, Rufus King High School in 1942 and Marquette University in 1950. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1943 to 1946, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific Theater in Luzon, Philippine Islands. Following his graduation from Marquette University he was employed by several Graphic Arts firms, starting in Houston, TX. Upon returning to Milwaukee in 1957, he established the Alpine Printing Company serving as President until retirement in 1978. He was active in numerous civic and social organizations. He was past President of the Milwaukee Concerned Hearts Club, and the Houston and Milwaukee Alumni clubs of Delta Sigma Pi. He served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Cardiovascular Foundation, the Concerned Hearts Club and the Marquette University College of Business Administration Alumni Association. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Delta Sigma Pi Professional Fraternity, the American Legion, the Lions Club as well as other social and civic organizations. He was married in 1948 to Joy Frieberg following their meeting as attendants for a relative's wedding. They had three children, Mark, Scott, and Kathleen. Kathleen passed in 2000 and Mark and Scott reside in Colorado along with granddaughter Leah Wussow. He is survived by his loving wife, companion, best friend, soul mate – the love of his life. He is also survived by brother-in law/sister-in law Warren & Connie Frieberg, Fox Point, WI, and two nieces, one nephew and other relatives and many friends. Adolph H. "Doc" Wussow was born in Milwaukee on September 17, 1924, the youngest child of Adolph Wussow and Clara Vollmar. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Annette Brohm, his brother S/Sgt Robert Wussow who was killed in action in Germany during WWII, and his daughter Kathleen. In lieu of flowers, memorials to charities of your choice appreciated.
