Agnes Dora Lipp, 94, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Holy Cross Church, 8311 West 93rd St. Overland Park, KS. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1150 N. 38th St. K.C, KS. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Cross Church Building Campaign Fund.
Agnes was born on July 15, 1917 in Kansas City, KS to John and Mary Dora. She attended Washington Rural High School and Clark's Business College. She worked for F.W. Dodge Corp. Construction News. Agnes married Fred Lipp on August 26, 1939.
She had a heart of gold and was a gracious loving lady, always giving of herself for family and friends and never went a day without including her prayers, especially the rosary. She loved gardening, especially flowers, cooking and sewing. Dogs always had a special place in her heart and brought immediate smiles. Agnes was so proud of her family and the fact that she was able to master tap dancing in her 70's. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Perpetual Adoration Society, Sunshine Club and Senior Friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred; her son, James; three sisters, Gertrude Dora, Jean Blaha and Mary D. Allen; and two brothers John and Charles Dora. She is survived by her son, David Lipp; Daughter, Barbara and husband Don Troughton; sister, Theresa Rathjen; and granddaughter, Heather Lipp.
