Agnes M. Smith, 85, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Village of Heritage Nursing Home in Monroeville. Born in New Haven, IN, she was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Surviving are her children, Kathleen M. Smith of Churubusco, Michael J. (Marianne) Smith, Richard A. (Lisa) Smith, Julia A. (Scott) Christieb, all of Fort Wayne, Joseph T. (Mona) Smith of Decatur, Stephen G. Smith, Rosann M. (Michael) Shutt, both of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph B. Smith in 1994, daughter, Rita M. Smith. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am, Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel, 11337 South US 27, Fr. Thomas Lombardi officiating, with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also, Tuesday, 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with rosary at 4:30 pm.
