Albert A. Anastis, age 79, of Canton passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Mercy Hospital. He was born February 15, 1932 in Canton, Ohio to the late Peter D. and Lulu Anastis. Albert proudly severed in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Timken Company after 40 plus years of service. Albert was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Massillon. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Penelope Stosic and Mirma Palosi; two brothers, Peter "Dan" Anastis Sr. and J. Richard "Dick" Anastis and great grandson, Kyle I. Maksim. Albert is survived by his five children, Albert A. Anastis Jr. of Canton, Peter A. Anastis of Lakewood, Kim E. Anastis of Massillon, Richard "Rick" Anastis of Phoenix, Az. and Abby (Randy) Bolon of Canton; grandchildren, Kelly (Mark) Yoder of Massillon, Julia Maksim and Fiancée, Robert Dillon of Canton, Josh (Shannon) Maksim of Canton and Allan S. Anastis of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Logan Yoder, Owen Yoder and Sara Maksim; four sisters, Margaret Mills of Massillon, Victoria Grznar of Canton Vera (Ed) Boland of Navarre and Barbara Cook of Canton; sister-in-law, Sue Anastis of Massillon and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Massillon, 364 1st St. SE. Massillon with Fr. Yanni Verginis officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel on Tuesday May 10 from 5 to 8 pm.
