Albert Leslie Foyle was born on March 28, 1923 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, son of Albert and Katherine Foyle. Affectionately known as "Les" or "Leslie", he attended school in both Elizabeth, New Jersey and North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. As a young man, Leslie moved to the United States and lived most of his life in Roselle, New Jersey. Les worked as a Machine Operator for most of his adult life. He retired from A. B. Murray Steel Company after 37 ½ years. After retiring, he worked part time for 20 years as a Crossing Guard for the Borough of Roselle Police Department. He could be seen walking children to and from Lincoln School (now known as the Charles Polk School). He was an active mason in Masonic Lodges in both New Jersey and New York including Loyalty Lodge #33 F & AM in Union, New Jersey for over 50 years until his health began to fail last year. He was also a member of Morning Star Community Christian Center, Linden, New Jersey. Albert Leslie Foyle departed this life on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Katherine Foyle, twin sister, Katherine Koch and brothers, Chalmers Johnston, Georges River and Russell Johnston. He leaves to cherish fond memories, sisters, Mildred Patterson of North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Yvonne of NJ; nieces, Heather Bell and Chaline Sajatovich; devoted friends, Reggie and Valerie Graham of Roselle, NJ; his best friend, Bill Bellenhearse and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and devoted friends. As the sun begins to set And the day comes to an end, Precious memories of your life We will cherish so deep within. Your life was an inspiration You touched so many lives, And we're truly going to miss you Through all the tears we cry. But joy comes in the morning Just to know you're at Heavenly rest, With God and all His angels, Because you were the very best.
