Mr. Albert Paul Castaing, age 90 years, son of the late Magdalin and Paul Castaing, passed away on January 8, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Gloriann Cali Castaing. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edmay Winterrowd, Delores Bennett, Inez Vizzini and Antoinette Giglio. He was born on January 9, 1921 and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans.
Mr. Castaing was a WWII veteran and decorated was hero who flew over 50 missions with the 459th Bomb Group, 759th Squadron. He received numerous awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a member of the American Legion, a past President of the New Orleans Rose Society and retired from Bell South Engineering department.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Pauline Konnecker, many loving nieces, nephews, friends, members of the Quartano family and his devoted dog, Sugar.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon. Private interment.
