Mr. Albert Richard Holub, 68, of Waynesboro, passed away peacefully at 5:00 P.M., Monday, October 31, 2011, in Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, following a courageous battle with cancer. Albert was one of ten children born to the late Frank and Stella (Melgies) Holub. He was born and raised in Muskegon, MI. He proudly served in the United States Navy and while in the military he enjoyed traveling internationally. During his military service, he was also a member of the honor guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington National Cemetery. Albert will be remembered as a gentle soul, for his willingness to work hard, and for his sense of humor. He is survived by three sons, Patrick Holub and his wife Anne, Richard Holub and his wife Vickie, and David Holub and his wife Joanne; five grandchildren; four sisters; one brother; and good friends, Larry, Sr., Patricia, and Brittany Crouse with whom he resided. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Brown's Mill Cemetery, near Greencastle, with full military honors conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA, 17201.
