Aletha Prevard was born March 9, 1926 in Newark, NJ to the late Robert Swann and Hattie Gross, and resided in Paterson, NJ most of her life. She was employed at Valley Hospital of Ridgewood for many years as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. For many years she was a member of the First African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church of Paterson. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Wanda Prevard and Heddy Greene; sons, Edward Prevard, Glenn Prevard, Elliott Prevard, Dwight Prevard, and Jonathan Scott Prevard. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving and devoted husband, Eddie Prevard; one daughter, Robin Charlene Prevard; two sons, Mark Prevard and James Prevard; one brother, Freddie Gross (Lillie); two sisters, Betty June and Alexzine "Zeenie" Hunter; five grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Selena; a brother-in-law, William Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbors.
