PALUCH, Alex, 94, of Wheeling, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in Wheeling Hospital.
Alex was born March 22, 1914 in Hopkins, Minn., a son of the late John and Kathryn (Sheleva) Paluch. He was retired from Wheeling Machine Products; a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wheeling and the Elm Grove Lions Club. He also enjoyed carpentry, constructing homes and building doll houses.
In addition to his parents, Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie (Matyja) Paluch in 1984; two sisters, Ann Wojcik and Mary Bernard; and two brothers, Michael and John Paluch.
Alex is survived by his son, Alexander A. "Rocky" Paluch and his wife, Darlene of Triadelphia, W.Va.; two sisters, Esther Grimm of Bel Alton, Md. and Patricia Pockl and her husband, Mike of Wheeling; two grandchildren, Rocco Paluch and his wife, Novi of Buffalo, N.Y. and Lisa Hanna and her husband, Matt of Bentonville, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4-8 pm, Thursday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where vigil services will be held at 5 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, March 6, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Michael Krupka as celebrant. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
