Alice Emaline Buckland Crawford, 85, of Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4th, 2010 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg.

A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on November 9, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Loyd Rucker and Faye Blankenship Buckland. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Arthur Lloyd (Ott) Crawford; a son, William Arthur Crawford; and several brothers and sisters.

Emaline was a faithful member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows where her service included the Christian Women's Fellowship, Chancel Choir, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Church Board. She was also a member of American Legion Post #68 Ladies Auxiliary, and a loyal and devoted volunteer for many causes in the area. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Robert Lloyd (Bob) Crawford of Narrows; a daughter, Cynthia Diane Crawford of Christiansburg; three grandchildren, Kimberly McCoy of Christiansburg, Robert Lloyd Crawford, Jr. and wife Trish of Wichita, Kansas, and Mitchell Lloyd Crawford of New York, New York; two great-grandchildren, Skyler Renee' McCoy and Cody Allen Bell, both of Christiansburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 8th, 2010 at 11 AM at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); 605 Memorial Boulevard in Narrows. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
