Alice K. Thatcher, 73 of Columbia, NJ, a devout believer in Jesus Christ, was called home to be with The Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ on February 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles Harry Hardy and Mildred D. Cole. Alice was a Charter Member of the Christ Baptist Church, Columbia, NJ, where she served as the sunshine coordinator. A loving wife, mother and homemaker, Alice enjoyed quilting. Alice was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Patrick. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Lawrence D. Thatcher; three sons, Donald of Green River, WY, Andy G. of Bangor, PA, and Patrick of Avondale, AZ; two brothers, James Hardy of Hope, NJ and Larry Hardy of Mt. Lake, NJ; a sister, Grace Paff of Bethlehem Twp., PA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
