Alicia F. Martinez, 60, passed into the arms of God on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. She was born on January 20, 1951 in Weslaco, Texas, to parents Mercedes and Timoteo Figueroa, who later moved the family to Houston in 1955. All who knew and loved Alicia, knew that she had a huge, loving, and caring heart, as she always put family and friends' needs before her own. She was a true Angel here on earth, and we know she has gone on to continue her role on a grander scale in heaven.
Alicia is survived by her mother, Mercedes; devoted husband, Sylvester; children, Derek, and Deanna; grandchildren, Devin, Mia, and Max; brothers and sisters, Albert, Paula, Mary, Carmen, Alfred, Tim, Sarah, and Rachel; her lifelong best friend and sister-in-law, Linda; sister-in-law, Liz; nephew, Daniel; and many other in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Crespo Funeral Home. The service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., at Crespo Funeral Home. The interment will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Ave. Houston, Texas 77023.
