Alison L. Freshman, 14, of 13081 Whispering Spring Drive, Greencastle, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, in her home. Born August 23, 1996 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the Mervin L. Freshman of Chambersburg and Sherry A. (Donivan) Montgomery of Greencastle. Alison was currently a freshman at Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She was formerly involved in the Girl Scouts and played softball through the Greencastle-Antrim Baseball/Softball Association. Alison enjoyed music, singing, dancing, and writing in her journal. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and family trips to the beach. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her step-mother, Ruth E. Freshman; her step-father, Robert L. Montgomery, Jr.; three sisters, Kayleigh M. Freshman of Chambersburg, Aimee B. Workman of Hagerstown, and Nicole E. Workman of Hagerstown; five step-siblings, Matthew E. Melius of Chambersburg, Andrew R. Melius of St. Thomas, PA, Kiley R. Melius of Chambersburg, Aaron R. Montgomery of Greencastle, and Jenna A. Montgomery of Cumberland, MD; her paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Sandy Freshman of Waynesboro; her maternal grandparents, Harry Donivan of Burlington, NC and Dora Belcher of Sanford, NC; her niece Reagan A. Melius of Chambersburg, her uncle Thomas C. Freshman of Columbus, OH, her step-grandmother, Mae Martin of St. Thomas, her step-grandfather, Robert L. Montgomery, Sr. of Hagerstown; and special family friend, Emory E. Workman of Hagerstown. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 7, 2010, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
