Allan J. Braman, age 74 of Worth Avenue, formerly of Hillcrest Avenue, Hamden, passed away on December 18, 2011 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Allan was predeceased by his wife Patricia P. Ritzenak Braman in September. Born in New Haven on February 18, 1937, he was a son of the late Julius & Monica Morgan Braman. Al is survived by his daughter, Allison Alvandian & her husband Daniel of West Haven; his son Allan S. Braman & his wife Lisa of Clinton; grandchildren, Alexander & Eric Alvandian and Dustin & Blake Braman; sister, Eileen Bunch of Indio, CA; nieces, Tracy Lohse & Ann Mary Kline and nephews, Morgan (Running Bear) Bunch, Michael Braman & Robert Braman. Al was also predeceased by his brother Robert Braman. Al was a pipe insulator for many years, owning and operating the Energy Wise Insulation Co. He was a member of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club. Al enjoyed golfing, fishing, clamming, skiing in Vermont, metal sculpting and of course spending time with his family and many of his life-long friends locally, at the Cottage in Rhode Island and at Lake Hayward. He especially enjoyed his trip to Ireland with his family. Friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave., Hamden, on Thursday, Dec. 22nd at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.
