Allan Ray Rhodes, Sr., 85, of Paducah, Kentucky died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Western Baptist Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1923 in Deanfield, Kentucky to the late Charles Ray and Iva Rhodes. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro and then in Paducah. He was the owner of Allan Rhodes Honda BMW, was general manager for Harry Holder Owensboro Lincoln Mercury from l948-58 and was on the board of Owensboro National Bank. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Sweeney Rhodes, on July 2, 2001.

He is survived by his sons, Allan Ray Rhodes, Jr. (Johanna) of Paducah and Robert Todd Rhodes (Andrea) of Fort Worth, TX, three grandchildren, Jacob Todd Rhodes, John Todd Rhodes and Jean Catherine Rhodes and a great granddaughter, Charlotte Abigail Rhodes.

A family graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Presbyterian Church, 1328 Griffith Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301.
