Mr. Allen W. Betsch, Jr., 81, a resident of Port Saint Lucie for 40 years, departed this life Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
Mr. Betsch was born in Greenpoint, NY and moved to Port Saint Lucie from Maspeth, NY. He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Marine Corps and owned and operated a motel prior to retirement. He was also a member of the Elks lodge #2658, the Polish American Club, and the German American Club.
Mr. Betsch was preceded in death by his son, Allen Betsch, III., and brother, Edward Betsch. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan T. Betsch.
Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 8th, at Forest Hills Funeral Homes – Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel in Port Saint Lucie. Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 9th, at Saint Lucie Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Jensen Beach with military honors.
