Funeral services for Alva C. Gonzales, 75, of Richmond will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 27, 2009 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 26, 2009 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.Alva was born April 6, 1934 in Rosenberg to Jose and Hilaria (Cruz) Castellanos. She was a bus driver for 24 years for LCISD and was known for her homemade tamales. She loved watching sports, especially the Houston Astros. She went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2009 in Houston.Alva is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ybarra Gonzales; parents, Jose and Hilaria (Cruz) Castellanos; and brothers, Alex Nieto, Robert Castellanos and Procopio Nieto.She is lovingly survived by children, Debbie Gonzales of Needville, Mary Charles Delgado and husband, Leonard of Richmond, Joe Gonzales, Jr. of Rosenberg, Robert Gonzales and wife, Gloria of Rosenberg, Frank Gonzales of Canyon Lake, Albert Gonzales of Rosenberg; sister, Ninfa Zarate of Rosenberg; twelve grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.For those wishing, tributes and words of condolence may be left for the Gonzales family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F.
