Alvin Roy Goulbourne, 82, of Huntsville, Alabama, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at home.Pastor Goulbourne, retired in 1996, after serving the Seventh Day Adventist Church for 45 years in various roles such as teacher, pastor, Book and Bible House Manager, President of the Bermuda Mission of Seventh Day Adventists, Executive Secretary of the Atlantic Union Conference, in South Lancaster, Mass. After retirement, he ran the Seventh Day Adventist Community Services Center, in Huntsville, AL for 5 years.He is survived by his wife, Lucy Madeline Goulbourne, of Huntsville Al, son, Alvin Roy Goulbourne, Jr. and wife Margaret, Bermuda, daughter Apryl Joy Goulbourne, Huntsville AL, son, David Michael Goulbourne and wife Joan Elizabeth, Bermuda, daughter Julie Marketa Ann (Goulbourne) Brown and husband Traverse Michael Brown, Laurel MD, grandchildren, Alvin Roy Goulbourne III, Illiana Alesabet Goulbourne, Traverse Michael Brown III, Alyssa Brown, and Logan Michelle Brown, brothers, Eric Goulbourne, Sidney Goulbourne, and Westly Earl, sister Etoy Hilton, cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and other relatives and friends. Parents, Samuel and Hilda Dunn Goulbourne, and brother Donald Goulbourne predecease him.The Funeral Service will be Sunday at 11.00a.m. at Oakwood University SDA Church, 5500 Adventist Boulevard, Huntsville, Alabama 35896, Phone (256)837-1255. The viewing will take place at Valhalla Funeral Home 698 Winchester Rd. Huntsville, Alabama, 35811 Saturday, April 16 at 7:00p.m. -9:00p.m. and also Sunday at 10:00a.m. at the Church. The interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
