Alvina M. Hulmes, 84, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA, passed away April 30, 2011. in Norfolk, VA. A native of Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Gizelback, and the widow of Frank Hulmes. She retired from Tidewater Community College as a Secretary. She was faithful with the Unity Church in Missouri and was Treasurer for Lake Plaza Apts. Club in Norfolk. She is survived by her two daughters, Marlene Shank and Beverly Barton; three sons, Steven, Frank and Daniel; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7th at 3 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
