Amy Chesnut Bell Hall Banner, 97, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on May 29, 2011. She was born to Joseph Moroni Chesnut and Iva Shurtz in Escalante, Utah.
Amy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many years as a temple worker. Amy was a member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers. She worked at American Linen for 40+ years and served as a union representative.
Amy’s favorite place was her cabin, where she spent all the time she could enjoying it. She received many blue ribbons for her ceramics, crocheting and beautiful quilting.
Amy is survived by her beloved daughter, Merna J. (Grant) Parker, they spent the last few years of Amy’s life meeting her every need. She is also survived by two granddaughters whom she loved very much, Karen (Terry) Brown and Laura (Evan) Church; six great-grandchildren who adored her. She had 13 great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Shirley and Josephine. Amy was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, June 3rd, 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 So. 900 E. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the mortuary and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 E. Sandy.
