Angelo Louie Caffese passed peacefully on Monday, December 26th surrounded by family who eased his passage by sharing memories of their beloved patriarch.
Angelo lived and worked all his life on the Stockton ranch where he was born to Giuseppe and Angela Caffese, both natives of Sestri Levanti, Italy. A lifelong farmer, Angelo claimed he drove his first tractor soon after he learned to walk. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing while respecting and cherishing nature. Angelo belonged to the Italian Athletic Club, Lodi Italian Club, Italian Gardener's Society and Waterloo Gun and Bocce Club. Many will remember him as a champion Bocce player who competed fiercely but fairly.
Angelo was a good father who taught the values of hard work and honest living to his sons, daughters, grand and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children Gary Caffese, Bob Caffese (Kim) and Terri Caffese; his grandchildren, Greg and Dante Busalacchi, Michelle Caffese Dalporto (Rick), Marie Caffese Burkin (Christian), Andrea Haggerty (Ryan), Angelo (Rosie), Bobby, Michael, Justin, Josef, and eight great-grandchildren. Angelo also leaves behind his siblings Josephine Lott and John Rolleri. Waiting for him in heaven are his cherished daughter Carol, parents, sister Mary, brother Joe, long-time partner Flora and dear daughter-in-law Barbara.
Not a day will pass that all who knew Angelo will not miss his warmth, strength and great sense of humor. He was always the first to laugh - especially at his own jokes - and the last to judge others.
