Anita G. Melson, 76, passed away June 20, 2011. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC, and was a supervisor in the accounting department at the commissary in Norfolk, VA,. She was an avid artist and musician, and professional singer for WTOB radio station in Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Melson, and is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Norman and husband Paul; three sisters, Frances Virginia Greiner, Doris Gilbert and husband Bob and Laure Marin and husband Rey; two brothers, Bud Gautier and Gene Gautier; and one grandson. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Widner; and brother, Thomas Jefferson, Jr. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Jonathan Bennett officiating.
