Anna Marie Rudd (nee Bretz), age 95, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday evening, May 12, 2010, following complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.

She was born August 6, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio to Michael and Anna (nee Auner) Bretz. She attended Cleveland West Technical High School. She worked for many years at the Hillson Nut Company on West 71st Street in Cleveland, just a short walk from her lifelong family home. She worked as a peanut inspector at Hillson and enjoyed being able to walk to and from work and walking home for lunch. She was also proud to be a homemaker for much of her life as well.

Mrs. Rudd is survived by her loving Family: Daughters Ardelle Cummings of Brooklyn, Ohio, Carol Brough (Donald) of Sandusky, Ohio and Linda Browning (Philip) of Brunswick, Ohio; 15 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Henry Frank Rudd, who passed away January 29, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her two infant children Vivian and Alan, her Parents Michael and Anna Bretz, and her Siblings Michael G. Bretz, Jean Wendland, and John Bretz.

The Family will receive Friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 4334 Pearl Road, Cleveland, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 4334 Pearl Road, Cleveland, and will be officiated by the Rev. Charles Knerem, Pastor of First Lutheran Church of Strongsville, Ohio.

Entombment will follow at the Brooklyn Heights Cemetery Mausoleum, in Cleveland, in the Sanctuary of Peace.

Although flowers are appreciated, the Family prefers memorial contributions be forwarded to the Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic, 6801 Brecksville Road, Independence, Ohio, 44131.
