Anna Ruth Achoe was born on January 21, 1919 in Knoxville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Perry and Minnie Brice. She was raised in Knoxville and was later joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Broadus G. Achoe on June 3, 1939. In the late 1940's, Anna Ruth along with husband moved to Morristown, New Jersey where she resided for more than fifty-seven years. She peacefully entered into eternal life on May 5, 2009.

She was a homemaker who joyfully raised her children and over the years provided daycare for other working mothers. Ruth was a cornerstone to Hillary Avenue in Morristown, where she was greatly loved and respected in the neighborhood. She had a deep love for animals and enjoyed gardening, bingo, sewing and listening to music.

Ruth was a faithful and devoted member of Wallace Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church for more than fifty-three years. There she introduced her children to Jesus Christ and to Christian living. She was a faithful member of the Deaconess and Stewardess Ministries and received great joy serving in the church. Her favorite song was "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine."

She is predeceased by her husband Broadus and son Duane. Surviving are her loving children Glenn, Broadus Jr. and his wife Augustine, Raymond, and step-son Robert, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and special friend, Diana at CareOne.
