ANNE CATHERINE DENISON, age 82 years, a longtime resident of Holly Meadows, Parsons and more recently a resident of Elkins Manor, departed this life Monday afternoon, December 29, 2008 at Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
She was born Monday, March 22, 1926 in Boston, Mass, a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Crowley. On September 28, 1946 in Boston, Mass., she was married to Lawrence Patrick Denison, who preceded her in death June 3, 1969.
Surviving are two sons, Lawrence Patrick Denison and wife Janet of Parsons and Michael McLain Denison and wife Beverly of Elkins; one brother, David Crowley of Norwood, MA; one sister, Claire Patton and husband, Robert of Palm Coast, FL; four grandchildren, Michelle A. Walker of Oakland, TN, Michael P. Denison of Belington, WV., Julie D. Frazier of Bartlett, TN, and Denise D. Kelly of Elkins; and ten great grandchildren and longtime friend and companion, Hubert Hedrick of Pheasant Run.
Preceding her in death are one infant son, Peter Denison; and one sister, Marie Hegarty.
She was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School of Roxbury, Mass during 1943. Mrs. Denison retired from the United States Forestry Dept. on March 25, 1989. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy and St. Brendan Catholic Church. She was a member of Elkins Womens Club and the Red Hat Society. She loved to work in her flower Garden when at home. She loved to travel and was an avid reader.
Anns request for cremation was honored. A Church Mass and interment in the Aurora Cemetery will take place at a later date. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the American Heart Assoc. 1110 Prestwick Avenue, Morgantown, WV. 26508.
