Anne Marie McRoy, 71, died peacefully at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 18, 2011, at her residence, following a courageous six-year battle with cancer. She was born July 9, 1940, in Pawtucket, R.I., to Edmund and Mary DeRosa Zuchowski, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 30, 1961, she married Douglas P. McRoy, who survives. They just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. McRoy was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima. She was a member of the Lima Area Serra Club and had been a member of LaSertoma Club. In 2003, she retired as the manger of the cafeteria at Lima Central Catholic High School after 25 years. She had owned Anne's Catering, because of her love of cooking. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling personally with family, and with Sertoma International and the Serra Club, from Hawaii and every point in between through Cape Cod. She enjoyed wintering at Gulf Shores, Ala. Survivors also include a son, Ken McRoy, of Columbus; a daughter, Kim (Tom) Graham, of Lima; two grandchildren, Tony Graham and Meagan Graham, both of Lima; a brother-in-law, Ben (Janet) McRoy, of Middletown; and two cousins, Winnie Sisk and Josephine Wilburn, both of Dennis, Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Lima. Father David Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, where a parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Central Catholic High School, 720 S. Cable Road, Lima, OH 45805; or the Lima Area Serra Club, c/o Claude Burgfeld, 1009 Dickman Ave., Delphos, OH 45833.
