Annette Virginia Andersen (nee Larson, Lindgren), 74, passed on peacefully at her home on January 31, 2013. Annette was a trusted, fun and loyal friend to many. She grew up in her beloved hometown of Madison, WI. She and her second husband, Don Andersen, have shared their love of Madison and have been enthusiastic and avid Badger fans over the years. Annette came to Trinity College in Chicago, in the late 1950's, where she met her first husband, Jim Lindgren (d. 1976). They and many good friends from Trinity raised their young families at Edgebrook Free Church, where Jim was the Music Director and Pianist. Jim and Annette enjoyed singing duets and the family sang as Karyn and Rob were old enough. Many good memories of backyard dinners at the picnic table with family and friends. In the late 1960's they came to Arlington EV Free Church. This has been Annette's home church since then. After Jim passed on, Don and Annette were introduced by friends at church. They were married in 1978. They have been a couple that has really enjoyed life to the fullest. They have loved their church, traveling around the world together, spending fun times with their kids and grandkids and their many good friends from church and their close-knit neighborhood.

Annette thrived as Learning Center Director for most of her teaching career at Indian Grove Elementary in Mt. Prospect. She said the kids were an inspiration to her and loved introducing them to good books. But the stories we hear from her students make it clear, she was an inspiration to them just as much.

Throughout Annette's beautiful life here she was the daughter of Lars and Ellen Larson (Madison, WI); wife of her beloved first husband James W. Lindgren (d.1976), and adored husband Donald F. Andersen; much-loved mother of Karyn (Lindgren) McCauley and Rob Lindgren (Jennifer); fun and loving grandmother to Robert (Buzz), Andrew (Drew), Kathryn (Katie) and Annette (Annie-her namesake)' dear sister of Ralph Larson (Carol); and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Annette's life will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013, 11:00am at The Orchard EV Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. There will be a luncheon following the service.
