Funeral services for Annie Goodwin, 84, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Turner Baptist Church near Wills Point with Pastor Fred Cooper and previous Pastor Jimmy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Myrtle Springs. She died Sunday evening, July 22, 2012, in Wills Point. Annie was born January 9, 1928, in Kershaw, South Carolina, the daughter of Clifford Stephen Threatt and Henrietta Whaley Threatt. She attended school at Heath Springs, South Carolina. On August 23, 1947, she married Jesse C. Goodwin in Kershaw. Sixty-seven years ago she moved to Wills Point. Annie had been employed by Countryman's Café as a waitress and later Fairway Shoe Store both in Wills Point. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Annie was a member of Turner Baptist Church near Wills Point where she was the church pianist and Sunday school teacher for several years. Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clifford S. Threatt, Jr., Ned L. Threatt, Ralph L. Threatt and Harold L. Threatt and a sister, Carolyn Threatt Gatwood. Annie is survived by her husband, Jesse C. Goodwin, of Wills Point; son, Philip L. Goodwin & wife, Nancy, of Ft. Worth; daughter, Carolyn Gwen Williams & husband, Bill, of Canton; sister, Lily Grey Parker & husband, Glen, of Colleyville; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Threatt, of Columbia, South Carolina, Cornelia Threatt, of Lancaster, South Carolina and Carolyn Threatt, of Charlotte, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Meredith Ramirez & husband, George, of Ft. Worth; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers: Glen Butts, Robert Brown, Mike Pierce, Bill Shelton, Ray Parker and Bill Loven. Honorary pallbearers: Ted Deen, James Lawrence, Earl Clark, James Hill, Glen Ellis, Rickey Malone and Charles Adams. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
