Anthony "Tony" T. Salvatore, 70, of Springfield, died at 5:03 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Tony was born March 24, 1942 in Chicago, the son of William and Trellice Jordan Salvatore. Tony received his Master's Degree from Minnesota State University and retired from Hewlett Packard in 1998. Prior to that, he worked at Xerox Corp. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #158 and Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Tony enjoyed traveling, fine dining, arts, golf, animals, and airplanes. He was also a Green Bay Packers shareholder. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his fiancée, Sheila Messinger of Springfield; his son, Jeff (wife, Evelyn) Salvatore of Spring Hill, FL; three grandchildren, Kaysie, Kari and Kristopher Salvatore; and sisters, Wilma Salvatore of Berwyn and Gerri Salvatore of Cicero. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the ceremonies. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Park.
