Gallegos, Anthony "Tony" M., 73, a retired Sedgwick County Sherriff's Officer and lifetime resident of Wichita, KS passed away December 10, 2011. He joined the Army at a very young age and served in Korea for a short time. In 1960 he met Joanne Buffington, and they married in 1961. Tony served as a Sherriff's Officer for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was also a member of the Sherriff's Honor Guard. As an avid golfer, he began working as a golf pro and continued doing so for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rumalda; and his father, Frank. Tony is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne; son, Michael Gallegos; 3 granddaughters, Anaya, Gabriella, and Payton; former daughter-in-law, Miranda Broderick, and many, many friends and relatives. Memorial service: 2 pm, Wednesday at Lakeview Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
