Anthony Mayes was born on April 27th, 1961 to the union of Rena and Willie Mayes in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the fourth child of eight children. Both parents and two brothers preceded him in death. Anthony was educated in the St. Louis Public school system. He professed his hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend Trussell at The Original Friendship Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Anthony was a very loving person, and was protective of his family and friends whom he loved dearly. There was nothing he wouldn't do for the ones he loved. He was a hard worker and possessed many skills. In his spare time he enjoyed baseball, listening to music and spending time with his friends. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Tangela LittleJohn and later divorced. In 1995 he met his life partner, Betty Jackson and from this union one son was born, D'Angelo Jackson; He was also a father to Daneshia Rhodes and Dominic Bouyer and was grandfather to Robert Paden, III. Anthony departed from this life on January 26th, 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, D'Angelo Jackson, Betty Jackson; five sisters, Peggie Eddie (Jerome), Tosca Redden, Virginia Williams, Erma Peterson, and Juanita Harvey; five brothers, Willie Mayes, Jr., Andre White, Grayling Weekly, Chuchie White, and Terrill Gurlly; one grandchild, two aunts, two uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
