Antonina "Lena" Messina, 93, of Port St. Lucie, Florida died, January 21, 2012 at Palm Garden, Port St Lucie Florida.
Born in Garfield, New Jersey, she had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 38 years coming from Dix Hills, L.I. New York.
Before retiring she was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church, where she had been a member of the choir.
Survivors include sisters, Pauline DiDio of Oakdale, NY and Josephine Mazzella of Port St. Lucie; her niece and caregiver, Judith Lloyd of Port St. Lucie, six additional nieces, six nephews, 30 greatneices and nephews and 13 great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gaetano "Tom" Messina and a brother Frank Vetrano.
SERVICES: There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on January 26, 2012 at the Forest Hill Funeral Homes - Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel, Port St. Lucie with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on January 27, 2011 at St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Palm City.
