Antonio John Ristaino "Tony" age: 86 of Pendennis Mount, Annapolis for 40 years and
previously of 126 Market Street, Annapolis died December 20 following a heart attack.
Tony was born May 26, 1925 at 67 East Street, Annapolis to the late Carmine and Vincenza Alvino Ristaino. He graduated from the class of 1943 Annapolis High School and the class of 1945 Loyola College of Baltimore. He married his wife, Mary Louise Ristaino, in 1950. He was a Chemical Engineer for the Department of Defense, retired and went into business for himself doing engineering consulting and home inspections until the age of 79. He was a member of St. Mary's Church for 50 years and was a member of the choir and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Italian Businessmen's Association, and National Society of Professional Engineers. He enjoyed weightlifting and wrestling and was the 1943 Athlete of the Year at Annapolis High School and also won the South Atlantic Weightlifting Championship that year.
Tony was preceded in death in his beloved wife, who died in December 2003.
He is survived by five sons, Antonio A. Ristaino, Towson, Carmine P. Ristaino, Havelock, NC, Andre G. Ristaino, Carrboro, NC, Francesco V. Ristaino, Annapolis, and Peter A. Ristaino, Harwood; five daughters, Mary M. Fowler, Denton, Bernadette M. Cole, Annapolis, Teresa M. Ripley, Moscow, PA, Madonna A. Ristaino, Annapolis and Pia M. Abell,, Towson; 38 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. , Monday at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9 a.m., Tuesday, December 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
