Antonio Navarro, 76, led a full life until he was ready to come home to the Heavenly Father on October 13, 2011 in Fremont, California while surrounded by love and support of his family, loving wife, Nellie; son Reynaldo, daughter-in law, Liza; daughter, Laura; grandchildren, Angeline and Michael; siblings, Remegio (Luming) and Corazon (Eddie); and step children, Beth, Joey, Weng, Mike and Bong and their families, and nephews, nieces and friends.

He was the first born of Beatriz Salaya and Thomas Navarro on April 9, 1935 in Abucay, Bataan, Philippines. He went to Tomas Pinpin Elementary School in Abucay and Arellano Memorial High School in Balanga, Bataan. After graduation, he applied to join the U. S. Navy but without a definite acceptance, he opted to pursue Electrical Engineering studies at MAPUA Institute of Technology in Manila. He eventually got his U.S. Navy acceptance but he was already committed to obtain his university degree.

Tony worked for Philippine Airlines, was assigned to Guam, and then immigrated to San Francisco as a professional worker. The family resided in San Francisco, California where Tony worked for United Airlines. After early retirement, he resided briefly in Southern California before coming back to the Bay Area. He and his wife, Nellie, relocated to Las Vegas in the mid 2000s. Missing their families, they recently decided to come back to the Bay Area. It is while visiting Nellie's family that he succumbed to heart failure.

Hailing from Abucay, Bataan, he was the honorary town mayor in San Francisco/Bay Area early on before there was a large contingent of town mates in the Bay Area. With his outgoing personality, he often rolled out the welcome mat to new arrivals and gave tours of San Francisco. With his analytical mind, he enjoyed studying the odds and evens of horse racing. He also was a devotee of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag and supported various activities that honor the Blessed Mother and St. Dominic. Tony will be missed but the family is consoled with firm belief that he is now at home with his Lord.
