Arlene M. (O’Shea) Sweeney
Watervliet, MI – Arlene May Sweeney, 73, of Watervliet, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Caratel Inns in St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph; MI. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Rosary at 4:30) at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Arlene was born on October 6, 1936 to James and Catherine (Tebbrugge) O’Shea in Chicago, IL. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved cats. She enjoyed many years working in the hospitality industry.
Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Mary Kate (Glenn) Andrews of Stevensville, MI and Eileen (Leslie) Pullins III of Ann Arbor, MI and four sons, Patrick (Edie) Sweeney of St. Joseph, MI, Kevin Sweeney of St. Joseph, MI, Sean (Michelle) Sweeney of Watervliet, Mi and Michael (Jesse) Sweeney of Murphy, N.C.. She is also survived by a stepsister, Donna Robinson and 13 grandchildren.
Arlene was preceded in death by her son, T.J. Sweeney on May 25, 2006, her parents James, and Catherine O’Shea and a sister, Betty Carli.
