Arnold Edward Davies, 96, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, formerly of Rocky River and Lakewood, Ohio. Mr. Davies was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio and spent 4 years in the United States Army (South Pacific Action as Assistant Chaplain and Acting Chaplain) during WWII. He was a Traffic Manager for Valley Camp Coal Company for 48 years and enjoyed the sports of basketball, tennis, golf, and bowling. A member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church for 84 years, he enjoyed singing in the church choir. Family was important to Arnold, and he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He passed away on September 26, 2011 at his home at The Renaissance Retirement Community in Olmsted Falls. He was the beloved husband of Mildred (nee Hazelton) of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; dear father of Neil Davies (Karen) of Parma, Ohio. and Reid Davies of Huntington Beach, California; Grandfather of Christine Randall (Mike) of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, James Davies (Jenn) of Parma, Ohio, and Michael Davies of Brook Park, Ohio; Great Grandfather of Jonathan Davies, Isabella Davies, Alexander Randall and Gabrielle Randall. He was the son of Edward A. and Mary Louisa Davies, and the brother of Norman Davies (deceased). Memorial contributions can be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church Choirs, 15700 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, OH 44107. Memorial Service will be at 1:30pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Lakewood United Methodist Church. Private Commitment Ceremony at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.
