Arnold Jack Rosenthal
Graveside Services for Arnold Jack Rosenthal will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Jewish Cemetery, Main St., Pineville, with Rabbi Arnold Task officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to John Kramer & Son.
Arnold Jack Rosenthal, 87, of Alexandria, passed away December 22, 2010, in Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and May Rosenthal and one brother, Bernie F. Rosenthal, Jr.
Mr. Rosenthal graduated from Bolton High School, Tulane University and Tulane Law School. While in high school he was a member of the tennis team and continued to enjoy the sport throughout his life. He owned racehorses and was an avid follower of the racing game. Mr. Rosenthal also owned the Joy Theater, was past commissioner of Finance and Utilities for the city of Alexandria and was a member of Congregation Gemiluth Chassodim.
He is survived by: four cousins, Jack Kahn of Baton Rouge, Karlyn Greenberg of Houston, Texas, Dorothy Lewy of Fairfax Station, Virginia, David Hart Rothman of Alexandria, Virginia and one godchild, Dr. Janice Evans of Albuquerque, New Mexico, his special caregiver, Clementine Josiah and his nurse, Debby Hanson.
The family requests memorials be made to: Congregation Gemiluth Chassodim, 2021 Turner Street, Alexandria, LA 71301 or to the Rosenthal Montessori Elementary School, c/o the Rapides Parish School Board, 619 6th Street, Alexandria, LA 71301.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Thursday at John Kramer & Son.
