Arthur Mellinger "Mutt" Moore, 77, of the 2500 block of Calonia Arch, passed away May 10, 2009, in Maryview Hospital.

A native of Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Victoria and William F. Moore, Sr. He was a self-employed Advertising Salesman. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Portsmouth Lodge #898. He was also an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow, BSA.

He is survived by his wife, Donna M. Moore; three step-sons, Bernie McQuade, Domnick and Dieago Rael; two step-daughters, Leonette Masters and Theresa Rael; two sisters, Florence Poirel and Marion Phyllis Russell; a brother, Charles Moore; eleven step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step-daughter, Margaret McQuade; three brothers, Joe, Bill and Lynn; and three sisters, Louise, Jean and Leah.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Portsmouth Moose Lodge # 898, 1400 N. George Washington Hgwy., Chesapeake, VA. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moose Charities, Boy Scouts of America or the charity of one's choice.
