IRMO - Arthur Omori, 85, died Thursday, January 05, 2012.
Born in Rialto, Calif., on July 5, 1926, he was a son of the late Kakugiro Omori and Some Arimitsu Omori. Arthur was a 60 year resident of Chicago, Ill., but enjoyed the warmer climates of both Texas and South Carolina for the last several years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a service manager for Central Service Co., Chicago, Ill. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was an avid golfer, bowler and cook. Arthur touched the lives of many with kindness and generosity.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Lillian Ruth (Kirk) Omori; son, Gregory Omori (Karen) of New Ulm, Minn.; daughter, Jennifer Winchel (R.D.) of Irmo; grandchildren, Alex Omori, Colin Omori, and Seth Omori Winchel; sister, Helyn O. Martin (Hugh) of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brother, John Omori (Gloria) of Arlington Heights, Ill.; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
