Arvis Victoria Johnson "A.J." was born December 17, 1921 to Emma and Harrison Edwards in McCrory, Arkansas. She was one of thirteen children. She accepted the Lord at an early age at Morning View M.B. Church. She moved to St. Louis, MO at the age of 19 and met and married Arlee Johnson. They later divorced. She spent many years working in a poultry house. The poultry house closed and she moved to Northern California to help her older ill sister in a restaurant/night club business. Upon the death of her sister, she moved to Southern California where she started as a machine operator, she retired after 25 years of service. Arvis leaves to mourn: her daughter, Emma; her son, Harvey; grandson, Michael; two granddaughters, Arvis and Sonya; the great-grandmother of twelve; the great-great-grandmother of four; two sisters, Luvenia and Elverta; and two brothers, Ace and Mark; many nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. Arvis returned to St. Louis approximately 3 ½ years ago to enjoy her remaining years with some of her family members in a new home.
