Attorney Joseph A. Graziano, age 83, formerly of both Old Forge, and Clarks Summit, passed away early Thursday morning at the Allied Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton. Born in Old Forge on May 6, 1928, son of the late Caesar and Margaret McDade Graziano, Joseph graduated from Old Forge High School before serving in the United States Navy during WWII. Upon graduation from the University of Scranton, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University's School of Law. He was a practicing attorney in the Scranton area before working for the Social Security Admnistration Bureau of Hearing and Appeals. He retired as an Administrative Law Judge in 1990. Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish in Clarks Summit. He is survived by his five children, four daughters, Anne and Ellen Graziano, both of Clarks Summit, Susan Graziano-Glomb and husband Robert of Oak Hill, Virginia, Judy Graziano-Kirk and husband Kerry of Fairfax, Virginia, and his son, James Graziano and wife Vanessa of Leesburg, VA; and eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Kathleen Lavelle, Sean and Patrick Graziano, Christopher and Kelsey Glomb, Caroline and Sarah Kirk. Two brothers, James and Caesar Graziano, also preceded him in death. His family would like to thank the staffs of both Lorimar Home Health Care in Old Forge and 2-North of Allied Skilled Nursing for their extraordinary care. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday at 10:00AM at St. Benedict's Church, Newton Ransom Blvd. in Clarks Summit, celebrated by Msgr. James J. McGarry, Pastor. Interment followed in the Cathedral Cemetery, West Scranton. Memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's name to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
