Audrey Palmer Blanchard, 87 of Springhill, Louisiana passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, Louisiana.
She was born January 23, 1919 in Summerfield, Louisiana to the late Cleaber Vanzant Palmer and Idelle Harryette Shackleford Palmer. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher, an active Member of United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Baxter Sunday School Class, and sang with the Choir. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Sanders Road Homemakers Club, and Sigma Kappa Sorority, and the Co-Owner of Blanchard's Store for Men and Boys.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Blanchard, and one sister, Virginia Palmer Hudnall.
She is survived by one daughter, Zan Blanchard Beagley and her husband Bill of Springhill, Louisiana; one son, James Blanchard, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Brandon McCoy of Grand Praire, Texas; Laurel McCoy of Shreveport, Louisiana; Marissa McCoy of Springhill, Louisiana; two brothers, C.V. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Norma; Bill Palmer and his wife Bettye both of Summerfield, Louisiana; one sister, Lalia Palmer Manuel of West Monroe, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Springhill United Methodist Church with Dr. Burton Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Springhill, Louisiana. Family visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Louisiana Tech University.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Manuel, Cody Manuel, Adam Manuel, Kerry Hudnall, Jim Palmer, Damon Hudnall, Matt Winn, Raymond Winn, Greg Porter, Will Palmer, and Butch Keith.
