Avalon H. "Mackie" Wilson, 84, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was born April 18, 1929 in Georgetown, Kentucky, son of the late Andrew and Sue Belle (McIntyre) Wilson. Mackie is survived by his wife, Katie (Greene) Wilson; his daughter, Denise (Gerry) Harris; two sons, Ronald Wayne "Rick" Wilson and Kevin Maurice Wilson; ten grandchildren, Michelle Gerrica Persley, Derek Ray (Sumaya) Wilson, Ronda Lee Simmons, Darrell Maurice Wilson, Jessica Denise Harris, Avalon Jaiz "A.J." Wilson, Danielle Olivia Harris, Chase Avalon Wilson, Christiana Gabrielle Harris and Malik Isaiah Maurice Wilson; seven great-grandchildren, Blain Alejandro Wilson, DeVarious Chenault, Demari Chenault, Tyrell Wilson, Dalyn Wilson, Deante Wilson, Cevon Wilson; two brothers, Andrew Kenneth (Dorotheia) Wilson and David Gerald (Alice Marita) Wilson; one brother-in-law, William Edward Peters I; a special cousin, Joe McIntyre. In addition to his parents, Mackie was preceded in death by four sisters, Juanita Fishback, Virginia Cotton, Bettye McDaniel and J.P. Peters. Visitation will be Saturday at First Baptist Church from 10am until time of service at noon with Dr. Frank Houston officiating and Dr. Leon H. McIntyre will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Darrel Wilson, Malik Wilson, Byron Wilson, Avalon Jaiz Wilson and Jamie Sidney. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe McIntyre, David Jackson, Leonard Hamilton, Larry Johnson Sr. and Bias Tilford Sr.
